Spring Is Here!!!!

Happy Spring!!!!!

Plants are coming up out of the ground.
It was above 60 degrees today
AND we had sun!!!!!
Praise the Lord!

Our seedlings are doing great!
They've been enjoying the gas heat inside and the heat lamp,
but today the sun was hitting the green house, so out they went!
It was hot and humid in there and they LOVED IT!

Look at these chicks!  Four weeks old now!
Francesca is kickin freshly filled pine shavings all over Lucy!
How Rude!
They got a new base container so they could see out and are enjoying that much better.
They were starting to peck each other they other day and it's STILL not warm enough for them to be outside, nor do they have all their feather yet.

We finally got the tiller back yesterday.  It's fix and running great.
After a nice geometrical tilling run, hubby said - Maybe we want the garden along the northeast fence.   O-M-G-G!!!!!
So there the tiller sits tonight until we make some major gardening decisions.

After the stressful garden/tiller situation, I decided it'd be good to get the chicks out in their coop to test it out.

The didn't like the cool grass, they just puffed up their feathers (and down) and looked around.
I finally manually moved them up onto the walk where again, they stood, and wouldn't move.

Finally walking a VERY little, they seemed more relaxed.

Until the dog discovered them.  Now he's seen them all day every day in the brooder, but suddenly their an exciting feature.

The girls did not take well to this and started up the ramp but weren't quite sure they wanted to go into the roosting area.  Barking never calms things down, I tell ya!

So we got the dog out in the back chasing the ball and we took the chicks in.  But I think it was a good first step.  Really looking forward to them being out there, but we are building a bigger coop for them and got to get that going!!!

Check back!  Now that it's spring, I'm sure there will be lots going on!
